The Streamline Jaw/ Swage Bottlescrew method is for those who are looking for a more professional look to their stainless wire balustrade. With this method your wires arrive pre-assembled to your exact measurements meaning an exceptionally quick and easy installation, as well as a stylish and streamline finish. This method can be easily adapted to suit timber or steel posts. All fittings and wire in this method are 316 (marine) grade stainless steel.

    FAQ About This Method

Can I install this method myself? Yes; even someone with no experience can easily install all our methods.

Do I need any special tools? Because this method arrives to you pre-made from our factory you will only require common handyman tools. You can choose to purchase a drive bit for quick and easy insertion of your screw eyes.

What size and type of wire do I use? This method is almost always used with 3.2mm 1 x 19 stainless steel wire; this wire is the sleekest and is more than strong enough for a balustrade.

What spacing do I need between my wires? When using 3.2mm 1 x 19 wire you will usually need 80mm spacing (11 runs) between your wires. Please click here for more information on wire balustrade regulations.

What is the maximum length run I can do? Around 10 metres using a 5mm bottlescrew. You can achieve runs of up to 20 metres if you put a 5mm bottlescrew at each end.

What size pilot hole should I drill for my screw eyes? 4mm.

What size hole should I drill through my intermediate posts? A 7.5mm hole through your intermediate posts will allow the swage stud from a 5mm bottlescrew to fit through. Please note: If you are using grommets the drill size will need to be 11/32" at least 10mm in to each side of your intermediate post.

Can I take my wire around corners? Miami Stainless highly recommends that you do not bend your wire around corners; this can fatigue the wire, put excessive stress on your posts, and make it difficult to get the required tension.

Can I use this method if I have timber posts? Yes

Can I use this method if I have steel posts? Yes you can, however your fixings will need to be changed to saddles with either rivets, self drilling screws, or an eye bolt with blind nut rivet; there may be a slight difference in price.

What do I need to get a quote? To get a free no obligation quote you will need to let us know how many and how long each section of your balustrade is. We will also need the distance between your decking and the underside of your handrail, so we can work out how many runs of wire you will need. You can either email us at info@miamistainless.com.au, call us on 1800 022 122, or fax us at 1800 022 199.

How do I order? When you come to order your balustrade we will need you to email or fax us with your exact measurements from the inside to inside face of your posts. At this time we will require payment for your order, this can be done by either credit card over the phone (do not email credit card details). You can also deposit the funds in to our bank account once we have given you the total (please email or fax payment confirmation)

How much will freight cost me and when can I expect delivery? This method is usually dispatched within 1-2 days after payment. Miami Stainless has a maximum freight charge of $12(+gst) Australia wide. Please note: This does not include Air freight.
